Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival 2021
Programmed Back Inside Ourselves an online exhibition inspired by S. Pearl Sharp’s Back Inside Herself and presented three recent works by filmmakers Ufuoma Essi (Bodies in Dissent), Tako Taal (DUMP_outthroughthemouth) and Rhiana Bonterre (Rhythms of my Silence). The programme drew on themes around language and articulation, as well as movement and the body, which all arise from the works and attempted to provide a space of regrouping, exhaling, reflecting and articulating.

Programmed Filmmaker in Focus strand on Moroccan documentary filmmaker Izza Génini and led an accompanying discussion between Izza Génini, writer and curator Omar Berrada and writer and filmmaker Yasmine Benabdallah. Watch the discussion here.
Re-shift, Recalibrate, August 2020, Pavilion Leeds
A week long online exhibition of moving image and sound work, accompanied by daily audio accompaniments produced in partnership with Sable Radio
Featuring work by Samra Mayanja, Touda Bouanani, Geoff Clout, Joe Namy, David Steans, Amelia Crouch, Jack Pell, Tabita Rezaire, James Thompson, Sophie Chapman & Kerri Jefferis, Rhian Cooke, Karrabing Film Collective, Bethan Hughes, Evan Ifekoya & SJ Rahatoka, Joanne Lee, Jenny Handley and Basim Magdy.

Interior/Exterior, August 2019, The Mosaic Rooms
Sought to shine a light on women’s lives in postcolonial Morocco through the lens of female filmmakers from the country. The three films chosen explore ideas of interiority and exteriority and womens’ lives in domestic and public space in Morocco. The screening was followed by a conversation, led by Mouflih, discussing themes raised in the films.
Featuring films by Yto Barrada, Izza Genini, and Asmae El Moudir.
AiM Film Club, May and August 2019, CCA Glasgow, for Africa in Motion
Using the films screened as a discursive tool to explore critical and social theory, the series included screenings of Le Fort des Fous by Narimane Mani (2017) and Kuxa Kanema (2003) by Margarida Cardoso.
Between the sea and the land, October 2018, CCA Glasgow, part of Africa in Motion Film Festival
This short film programme is thematically linked around the relationship between memory and water. Using the sea as a starting point, the films included interrogate the data and trauma that water can hold and how this relates to memory.

Screening of Isaac Julien’s film Black Skin, White Masks (1996) and Finding Fanon part 1 (2015) by Larry Achiampong and David Blandy, The screening was followed by a discussion with Professor Andrew Smith, Ranjana Thapalyal and Alberta Whittle.
Tasting Place, November 2017, The Project Cafe
A multisensory, interactive cinema event combining samples of food ethically sourced from different countries in Africa with short films providing experimental snapshots of life from all over the continent, with a particular focus on landscape and space and how people engage with them.
Featuring films by Soufiane Ababri, Jessica Beshir, Bahaa El Gamal, Amelia Umuhire and Akosua Adomo Owusu.
